John grew up working on a dairy farm in Hopkins, MI as the youngest of 5 brothers. As a teenager, a family friend was involved in a farming accident and lost his leg below the knee which sparked his initial interest in the field of prosthetics and orthotics. He graduated from Indiana Tech with a degree in biomedical engineering while competing on the cross country and track & field teams. John then went on to complete his Master’s in Prosthetics and Orthotics from Northwestern University. He completed his orthotic residency with the pediatric focused clinic Transcend Orthotics & Prosthetics in Indianapolis, IN and then completed his prosthetics residency with Comfort Prosthetics & Orthotics in Mount Clemens, MI. Outside of work, John enjoys spending his time running, playing volleyball, woodworking, and most of all spending time with his family and three-legged dogs.
